Posting in English

My experience in the posting group was very interesting. I have to say that I red a lot of topics, I mean articles, that on my on I wouldn’t never read. And that’s not because I don’t find them interesting. It’s because I wouldn’t find them on the specific website, where Simon found them. For example, the article about the victory city, a different article was that about creativity in schools, and another more examples.

There were although posts that I don’t like that much. These were the topics about the blogs of my classmates. I don’t like to criticize the work of other people, because I don’t receive very well the critics. So I used a lot the declaration which says “Don’t do other people things that you won’t to receive”. And in other way, I don’t have the enough knowledge to say was wrong and what right. For that reason I only make suggestions.

I like a lot the posts which were about things about me, things that I only know, and nobody can found them wrong, I mean my hobbies, the things I like, my life, and so on.
And because of that I want to present the puppies that my dog Pucca gives born last month, because this is the last chance. They were six puppies, but one died the second day, because it has a bad formation of the hard. But the other five are so cute. They are Validor, Iura, Miremel, Ofelia and Fundor. The first four are black pugs, Fundor is the only which is brown. The names where taken from the book “Eragon”, which is one of the favorite book of my older sister Carolina. She own Pucca so she named them, but I was OK, with the selection. I like that book to.

Design Objects of Blade Runner

I don’t remember much about the movie because I was a little sleepy during the projection of it. But I remember parts of this movie, and I’m going to write about this parts.

I want to write about the objects design that I observed on the movie.

The first object that I saw it’s a transparent sphere which dries the hair. I think that this object is not good enough, because it have a los of things that wasn’t considered when it was created. For example, the hair was dried so quickly after it was wet that the hair should burn up, because the air should be so hot. And what happens with the face which is inside the sphere with the hair? It will burn it, because the high temperatures that has to reach to dry so fast the hair.

All the objects that appear on the movie don’t have the kind of imagination that the hairdryer had. For example, the cars and guns are pretty alike to which are today on the market.

Possible Solution to the School System

The speech of Sir Ken Robinson about creativity and education is very interesting. I have to say that I already know that the school education was wrong way ago. In Chile we have suffer a lot of changes in that area the last time. The change of the P.A.A. for the P.S.U., the longest school day, and another change’s, in the school system, that are meaningless because they didn’t attack the main problem in it. I don’t know which is this problem, but is clear that the government doesn’t know it either. I mean that, because of the results that the colleges get on the international “exams”, and the results of the student’s on the government exams.

I’m not sure if the problem is that the education system is killing the creativity, and that the only answer to that is to improve the artistic instruction, but it will be a change that nobody will expected.

Piece of Technology

My favorite piece of technology is my mp3 player. It’s red and has only 128mb capacity, but I like it, I’m accustom to it.

It comes to my hands as a gift from my godmother. One day she passes by my house and she brought it for consult. She isn’t a very technologic person and she didn’t know what was better: an mp3 player with that memory capacity which I already mention or a pendrive with a 1gb capacity. My father, who knows more that my god mother about the subject, says it depends for what she wanted it. She wanted it to store information, so she keeps the 1gb pendrive and give me the mp3 player.

So, I have it since that day in 2005 and I have used it always when I walk on the street, that means every day. Actually if the battery is over as I’m in the middle of my way I felt like I miss something, I felt incomplete.

I like it because on the way to college is very lonely and the music makes me company. And if I don’t have it anymore, I think I can by another one, or I could return to the state in which I was before I get the mp3 player.

Personalize your own Space

The blog which I am reviewing is the “la.gisela” from Gisela, which address is http://lagisela.blogspot.com/.

I found that her blog is excellent. It’s very complete. There are, I think, all the seven post that Simon asks for, including a few more. Personally, it makes me a huge impression the last post " No wonder our perception of beauty is distored".
That shows how a woman can improve her appearance with a bit makeup and a good hair cut. It is comforting.
The original video although shows, how the appearance could be change with the help of a computer. That isn't so comforting.

Make a suggestion to Gisela to improve her blog, it is hypocrite, because my blog is very similar to hers, and I don’t have all the articles that Simon ask for, and it doesn’t have such many photos as her's neither. (Mmm...., now, as I said all the thing's that my blog doens't have, I notice that it isn’t like Gisela’s). The only thing I can suggest are the things I would put on my own space, but I haven't put them into the blog yet. I will post more things in what I’m interest. Things more in contact with my person, my family, my hobbies, my friends, etc.

My favorite web site

Let’s see… my favorite web site…. I have to say that I don’t have a favorite web site, and that’s because the web site that I visit as often as I can is a direct download page. And this kind of web site doesn’t speak about interest issues. There is a list of anime series, japanese animation, which is one of my hobbies. See the anime, not only download it. And because of this hobby I visit this page almost every day, if I have the chance.

I discovered this web site searching links for the Bittorrent download program in Google. I put the name of the series, in which I was interest on that moment, and appears this web site with others pages of the same kind.
I didn’t know that the direct download exists and in that time I download files with Bittorrent, Emule or Ares, the last two although download programs. But, the thing is that with these programs you have to wait a long time to see the thing that you download. I wasn’t very pleased with them because of these. On the contrary the direct download allows seeing the thing you want the same day that you found the link of it.

It’s like as when you download a file from your e-mail. The same window appears, the one thing different is that it takes more time that it disappears when the download is over. And that’s because you are downloading more than 170Mb, not only the 2Mb that you can enclose in the mail.

Comment about the Victory City

First of all I have to say I read a lot of the residents guide contents of the Victory City. I found a few things that are pretty good ideas. For example the recycle program that he planted it’s all right especially that all bodies of people who are already dead have to be cremated.

I found also great the idea that the teenage students will be required to work on the farms and in the greenhouses.

But not all is so great. I have a special problem with the rigidity of the entire city. If someone wants to does something that the Orville Simpson doesn’t considered that somebody could want this person hasn’t chance to do it. For example, I like to cook staff like cookies or cake as an entertainment activity, not work. In this city I can’t do it because they don’t have the equipment for this individual activity. The floor where we will lived don’t have kitchen. The entertainment area doesn’t have also kitchen and the industrial kitchen where the cooks made the food for the entire city doesn’t aloud the entry of people who doesn’t have an authorization.

The last point is crucial for me, and because of that I don’t like this future city.

Nessun Dorma

A song I like a lot is the Nessun Dorma (That nobody sleeps) from Giacomo Puccini. This song is on fact an aria of the opera Turandot, which was never finish because of the dead of Puccini. This aria was one of the favorite songs of Luciano Pavarotti and he sings it very well.

I hear it my very first time as a movie soundtrack. The movie was “The mirror has two faces” (El espejo tiene dos caras), starring Barbara Streisand and Jeff Bridges.

This song is written in Italian and I don´t speak Italian, so I have a vague idea what the singer sings because the words in Italian are very similar to the words in Spanish, but I don´t understand it well.
But I don´t like it because of the lyrics, I like it because of the emotions which are transmit throw the interpretation from Pavarotti of the music. I always thing that the person who is singing the aria feels sadness so deeply, but he although has a great hope from the future that commoves me.

I love cheese too

In the “Say cheese and you’ll be cooking with a smile” (The Guardian Unlimited August 24 2007) by Gemma Bowes. Author shows that taking part of one cheese-themed gastronomic break is a chance that nobody should miss.

The author support the main idea by telling a lot of the activities in which she, the women who took part on one of these breaks and the author itself, take part during her experience in Normandy.

She although shows how satisfied she comes back to her boyfriend after the holidays and how pleased he was when she shows him the things she learnt there.

Although she writes about the activities in which she takes part. They are:
- Tasting of different cheeses, which were made on the farm where she was sleeping.
- Cook different dishes with cheese in them for lunch and dinner.
- Taste few wines to see which one tasted well with a special cheese.
- Etc.

My favourite book

I have to say I don’t have a favourite book. I love a gender of writing, adventure/romance, specially the books of Titania. The authors of his edition house, them in my own appreciation are the best are: Julia Quinn with her books about the Bridgerton family, Lynn Kurlann with ¨Forever after¨ and Teresa Medeiros.

The first time I read a book of this kind, I was around the 15 years old and it was a novel, which was censured by my mother. I wanted to know how were the books she read for so long that the patient of her was over at last, so she gave me one of here novels of ¨Julia¨ or ¨Bianca¨ (I can’t remember which one was certainly) that someone can buy on the kiosk.

This hind of book have only about 150 pages, and actually I like book with more than 300 pages. The story of those books is much completed than a 150-page-books.

Little Review

Hi
First of all, I want to indicate that I’m not sure what a review is about. So I will write something about the BBC Learning English website, in hope of write something with sense.
When I went into this webpage during the English class, I don’t find anything interesting in it. That’s because I could not hear a thing from it. And because the commands I put in to the computer doesn’t realize the actions I demand on return. On consequence, my first impression wasn’t very good.
At home I try again with better results. I play a little with the term crosswords. I found it difficult, because I don’t know the vocabulary necessary to full all the spaces.
On the other hand, I think is a very good staff that the BBC UK give a space on his website for the people who doesn’t know English very well improve there skills.
